SOUTHEAST OF SMITH POINT ON THE WESTERN SHORE
This structure was built in 1897 and is a typical caisson type lighthouse. The light is over fifty feet above the water and can be seen for over 16 miles on a good day or night.
I am a professional photographer specializing in lighthouse, maritime, nature and urban photography. I've been published in many national books and magazines, and am the publisher and co-publisher of numerous lighthouse and wildlife posters. I have led a number of tours for the Smithsonian Institution and produced multimedia slide shows for them and others.
