Description
Alligator Reef lighthouse is one of the seven or eight lighthouses in the Atlantic guarding the Florida keys. When I did the Florida lights, I figured the best way to photograph the offshore lights was from a small plane. We found a willing pilot in Marathon and he was delighted to make sixty dollars an hour and have the ability to fly low and slow. Which he could do because he was off shore, so 500 feet or lower and just above a stall was the plan. Fun trip and did all 30 plus lights in the state in nine days. By car and plane, Jacksonville to Keywest and up the west coast to Tallahasee.
