MARBLEHEAD LIGHT
Marblehead Harbor
Marblehead, Mass
The light first built at this location in 1836 was nothing more than a cottage with a light on the roof. It became more substantial in 1895 when the current 105 foot skeleton tower was erected. Built on a high bluff in Chandler Hovey Park, the green light can be seen for miles at sea. Visiting this light gives one a sense of the majesty of the New England seacoast. High above the water, the vista across Marblehead Harbor is spectacular.
