Description
South Carolina State Hospital authorized in 1821 by the General Assembly, mainly through the work of two members, Samuel Farrow and William Crafts, JR. The buildings, one designed by Robert Mills, shows a pioneer grasp of the ideas of humanitarian treatment. I can only guess what went on within the walls of these old buildings, but all I can say but for the Grace of God go we.

Lovely! I think my brain is kicking into gear. The building that looked like a church probably was a church. There's a whole complex here. Very cool.

Yes Sarah. There is about a ten acre complex here. All closed and falling to ruin.
